LODGE DESCRIPTION/LOCATION

 

River Springs Eco Lodge is located in Lushoto, Tanga Tanzania at Kwekiluli area. As you reach the area famously known as "RRM"you will see a sign board which directs you to the lodge. It is about 1 km from the main road, a 5-minutes drive from the main road. It is near Shambalai Secondary School. From Lushoto town center to the lodge it is about 2.5 km and a 4-5hours drive from Dar es salaam and 3-hours from Moshi(Kilimanjaro).From Dar es salaam one can board buses from Ubungo Terminal which are available daily.

THE LODGE IS LOCATED in a tranquil area partly succumbed with a natural forest. We tried to link the natural environment and the buildings of the lodge, giving a priority in search of the right balance between human intervention and natures's wonderful architecture. You will enjoy our botanical gardens with a variety of tropical flowers, butterflies and wild birds. To say the least, the area is rich in flora and fauna.

Surrounded with natural and protected forests, decorated with a river as if mother nature really let her creative juices flow here. The area is hilly, which is a "signature sight of Lushoto".

The theme and the architectural creation of the lodge is African, and is a representative of living in an African context. The Bandas (cottages) have been built from original design made by Founder &CEO with as many as possible local and natural materials harvested legally and not damaging the environment. We built them simple with all the necessary comfort with double bed and a  bathroom. Each Banda is designed to consume less energy and solar energy is highly encouraged in various uses.

YOUR BANDA (cottage) is an eco-accommodation. Spend your days in a spacious bungalow made and designed by using locally found products to experience peace, the power of nature and evoke unique emotions.

THE FACILITIES: We have 3 fully furnished Bandas specially made to give you a true taste of African life. Our Bandas are self-contained with a wardrobe, TV set,internet to connect you with the rest of the world. We can also offer special services upon your request.

Restaurant and Bar: We serve a variety of Tanzanian dishes to take care of your taste buds. The bar is stocked with a variety of local and international drinks to accompany our tasty dishes prepared by experienced chefs.

River Springs Heritage House is a Museum soon to be opened within the lodge's premises. it is going to be an intersection of Tanzania cultures. It will be a collection of artifacts from many of 120+ tribes in Tanzania. This is going to be one-stop for learning,leisure and research.
